MICHAEL ROBINSON’S EXCEL 2 EXCELLENCE FOUNDATION HOSTS ITS FIRST ANNUAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL DAY AND FOOTBALL CAMP

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 9, 2010)—NFL running back Michael Robinson of the San Francisco 49ers has formed Excel 2 Excellence Foundation, Inc., it was announced today. Robinson’s first foundation events will include a visit to the VCU Children’s Medical Center on May 21, 2010 and a football camp at Varina High School on May 22, 2010.
“I am excited to host these events in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia,” said Robinson. “The city of Richmond has been very influential in my personal and professional development and I am very much looking forward to giving back to my community.”
The hospital visit will focus on bringing encouragement and smiles to the pediatric patients. The football camp is free and limited to the first 500 registered campers. In addition to a fun day of activities with various other NFL players, campers will receive autographed items such as footballs, t-shirts, and photos. Michael Robinson, born in Richmond, Virginia, was drafted in the 4th round (100th overall) by the 49ers in the 2006 NFL Draft. He played quarterback and wide receiver at Penn State University and led the team to a Big Ten Conference title and an Orange Bowl Championship title in 2005. He finished 5th in the Heisman voting that year.
